Even though there was a lot of talk about Mohamed Salah coming back, he started on the bench as Liverpool tried to follow up their recent win against Inter Milan.

The game started well for Liverpool, with Ekitike scoring just 46 seconds into the match. He headed the ball into the net after Joe Gomez had a brave header to set it up, leaving Brighton stunned early on.

Brighton tried to respond and created some chances of their own, forcing Alisson Becker to make some important saves.

Yankuba Minteh also came close to scoring. Salah came on in the first half after Gomez got injured, and Liverpool kept pushing forward with chances coming from both sides before halftime.

The game changed in the 60th minute when Salah curled in a corner, and Ekitike was unmarked to head home his second goal of the game and his seventh of the season.

Brighton tried to push forward in the last few minutes but couldn’t find a way to get back into the match. Liverpool held on comfortably to show their strength at Anfield.
