CHELSEA came back from being down by two goals to get a 2-2 draw in the Premier League against Newcastle United. This result keeps Newcastle's unbeaten streak at St James' Park at 10 games (8 wins, 2 draws).

After a disappointing result in the Wear-Tyne derby, Newcastle quickly took control against Chelsea, who were also in the EFL Cup semi-finals.
Just four minutes in, Robert Sanchez made a great save to stop Anthony Gordon's close-range shot, but he couldn't stop Nick Woltemade from scoring into an empty net on the follow-up.
Woltemade had only scored once in 11 games before this match, but he scored twice in 20 minutes.
He controlled Gordon's cross, survived a long VAR check, and put Newcastle ahead.
Chelsea slowly got better in the first half, coming close to scoring when Pedro Neto accidentally put the ball in with his hand.
Newcastle could have sealed the win before halftime if Woltemade had directed Gordon's dangerous cross properly.
Only Brentford had lost more points from winning positions than Newcastle, who had lost 11 points in such situations.
Just four minutes after the break, Chelsea's captain Reece James helped the team by curling a beautiful free-kick into the top corner to reduce the deficit.
Soon after, Trevoh Chalobah made a rough challenge on Gordon, which could have led to a penalty, but he escaped punishment, helping Chelsea keep the pressure on.
In the 66th minute, Chelsea equalised through Joao Pedro.
His first touch from a long pass by Sanchez took the ball away from Malick Thiaw, giving him space to run through and score past Aaron Ramsdale.
The second half was fast and exciting.
James blocked a certain goal from substitute Harvey Barnes, and later shot wide.
Another substitute, Anthony Elanga, had a chance to win the game, but his shot went wide.
Newcastle haven't kept a clean sheet in 10 games, which is worrying after they dropped a big first-half lead.
For Enzo Maresca, his team improved in the second half and ended the weekend in the same position as they started, sitting fourth in the league despite losing points in four of their last five games (1 win, 3 draws, 1 loss).
