BELLINGHAM AND MBAPPE ON TARGET AS REAL MADRID SEE OFF 10-MAN SEVILLA

REAL Madrid won again for the third time in a week, helping to ease pressure on manager Xabi Alonso by beating Sevilla 2-0 at home in LaLiga. This result means Sevilla have not won any of their last 19 matches at Estadio Santiago Bernabéu.

Real Madrid have won all 11 league games this season where they scored first, so the opening goal was very important.

Both teams had good chances in the first seven minutes, but missed them.

Rodrygo and Alexis Sánchez both sent in some great passes through the defense, but Fran García’s shot was stopped by Odysseas Vlachodimos.

Then Isaac Romero sent a ball over Thibaut Courtois, but it went wide.

Sevilla kept pushing forward and created chances, but the next important one came for Kylian Mbappé 10 minutes later.

He hit a strong shot across goal from a tight angle.

Midway through the first half, Dean Huijsen headed a cross from a corner straight over the bar, and Sevilla looked like they could keep the game even until halftime.

That changed in the 38th minute when Rodrygo took a free-kick from the right.

Jude Bellingham jumped highest in the box and headed the ball into the net, giving Real Madrid the lead.

Sanchez, who used to play for Barcelona, tried hard to reply.

He took a bicycle kick near the end of the first half, but the ball hit the top of the net.

Mbappé had been on target in his last two games, but he missed several chances in the first 12 minutes of the second half.

He sent two powerful shots from good positions straight at Vlachodimos.
