The incident happened on Tuesday, December 16, 2025.
On that day, AM, a 15-year-old cleaning woman, left her hometown of Fatick to go to Dakar, where she was supposed to work as a domestic servant.
When she arrived in the capital, the teenager tried to find her guardian, a shopkeeper located at terminus 59 in Keur Massar.
But along the way, the young girl got lost.
That’s when she met MN, an unlicensed taxi driver who offered to take her to her aunt's house.
Instead of taking her to her destination, the driver, motivated by evil intentions, took the minor to a remote spot.
There, he raped the distressed and vulnerable teenager with a knife.
After finishing his act, the accused rapist left his victim at the Sicap Mbao bus stop and ran away.
At the scene, local shopkeepers noticed the girl's distress.
She told them about her terrible experience. The shopkeepers, who knew the taxi driver involved, took the teenager to the police station and reported him.
Thanks to their quick action, MN was arrested on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, the day after the incident.
Following an investigation, he was taken to court to face the consequences of his actions.
