A Cold, Wet Farewell To 2025 As Rain, Snow Grip Most Areas of Pakistan

Rain, strong winds, and snow are expected to impact many parts of the country on Wednesday. Snow is likely in mountainous areas, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department’s weather forecast for Wednesday.

In Islamabad, as well as several districts of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Northern Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir, rain is expected to accompany strong winds and thunderstorms.

Snow is anticipated in higher elevations. Fog is likely to form in parts of northeast and south Punjab, as well as upper Sindh, during the morning and night. Other parts of the country will see cold and partly cloudy weather.

In Islamabad and its surrounding areas, the weather is expected to remain cold and partly cloudy, with rain, strong winds, and thunderstorms anticipated during the day.

Across Punjab, most districts will have cold and partly cloudy weather.

Rain with strong winds and thunderstorms is forecast for Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Gujrat, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Khushab, Lahore, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Narowal, Faisalabad, Layyah, and nearby areas. Rain and snow are expected in Murree, Galiyat, and the surrounding hill stations. Light rain may also happen in Jhang, Sheikhupura, Sahiwal, Shorkot, Multan, Kot Addo, Bahawalnagar, Okara, Kasur, Khanewal, Khanpur, Bahawalpur, and Rahim Yar Khan. Fog is likely to be present in some plain areas during morning and night hours.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, intermittent rain is expected in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Kohistan, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Buner, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Kurram, Waziristan, Peshawar, Mardan, Charsadda, Nowshera, Swabi, Bannu, Karak, and Kohat, with snowfall in mountainous regions.

In Sindh, most districts are expected to experience cold and partly cloudy weather.

Thunderstorms are expected in Sukkur, Rohri, Shikarpur, and coastal areas during the morning, while fog may form in Kashmore, Shaheed Benazirabad, Mohenjo-Daro, and surrounding areas during the morning and night.

In Balochistan, rain with strong winds, thunderstorms, and snowfall is expected in Quetta, Ziarat, Chaman, Pishin, Qila Abdullah, Qila Saifullah, Noshki, Zhob, Kalat, Barkhan, and Musa Khel.

Other districts will remain cold and partly cloudy.

Meanwhile, intermittent rain and snowfall are expected in Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan throughout Wednesday.
