ZELENSKY HOLDS “CONSTRUCTIVE” TALKS WITH TRUMP ENVOY AS PEACE PLAN DISCUSSIONS CONTINUE

UKRAINIAN President Volodymyr Zelensky had a "constructive" phone call with Steve Witkoff, the U.S. peace envoy linked to former President Donald Trump, and Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner. The conversation was part of ongoing efforts to find a way to end the war. Zelensky mentioned that they talked about ways to make sure Russia follows any future agreement and again showed Ukraine's dedication to working with the United States.

Right now, Ukrainian officials are in Miami for the third day of talks with U.S. representatives about a peace plan backed by Washington.

The goal is to get Ukraine into a formal agreement. However, Russia hasn't shown any signs of reducing tensions, still carrying out missile and drone attacks throughout the country.

European leaders strongly criticized a big Russian airstrike that hit rail lines and energy systems in several areas.

French President Emmanuel Macron spoke to Zelensky, promising "solidarity" and saying he will join Zelensky, UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in London on Monday for discussions about Ukraine's security after the war.

At the same time, talks in Florida are still going on.

Witkoff said that talks with Ukraine's security minister, Rustem Umerov, were "constructive," and both sides have agreed on a plan for future security. But officials said that real progress on ending the war depends a lot on Russia stopping its attacks and reducing tensions.
