CHELSEA is dealing with a recurring issue: their attacking play isn't leading to enough goals. Joao Pedro has been used in positions he's not suited for, Liam Delap has been sidelined by injuries, and Marc Guiu is still too inexperienced to take on a key role in a top-four push.
This has left the team with few options, prompting the question: should Chelsea bring back Nicolas Jackson from his loan at Bayern Munich?
When Jackson left Chelsea, the club thought they were making a better move.
Joao Pedro looked like a top player during the Club World Cup, and Delap showed promise as a dynamic forward. But injuries have thrown off that plan, pushing Pedro out of his natural position and leaving a gap in the attacking strategy.
Jackson hasn't had much action at Bayern either.
Even though he might not reach the high goal totals expected of a Premier League striker, he still has skills that Chelsea is missing. His abilities are between Delap and Pedro — he's quick, attacks directly, and can be dangerous when moving into space, especially against teams with deep defenses.
While Jackson won't fix all of Chelsea's attacking issues, he could add the movement and height that the current lineup is lacking.
With the team aiming for a Champions League spot, bringing him back might be a smart short-term solution.
Whether or not Chelsea decides to do this will depend on Delap's recovery and Pedro's role.
But right now, bringing Jackson back is beginning to seem like a reasonable choice.
