On Saturday, the 40-year-old scored two goals in Al-Nassr's 3-0 win against Al Akhdoud, taking his total for club and country to 956. Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr in 2022 and signed a new two-year contract with the Saudi Arabian club last July, meaning he will continue playing past his 42nd birthday.

After being named the Middle East's Best Player at the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai on Sunday, Ronaldo said, "It's hard to keep playing, but I'm motivated." He added, "My passion is strong, and I want to keep going.

It doesn't matter where I play, whether in the Middle East or Europe. I always enjoy playing football, and I want to keep going." Ronaldo also said, "You know what my goal is.

“I want to win trophies, and I want to reach that number [1,000 goals]. I will reach that number for sure, if I don't get injured." Cristiano says

In an interview with Piers Morgan last month, Ronaldo said he plans to retire from football "soon." This season, Ronaldo has scored 13 goals in 14 games for Al-Nassr, and the team is currently four points ahead at the top of the Saudi Pro League. Ronaldo holds the record for most goals scored for Portugal (143) and Real Madrid (450), and is the only player to have scored more than 100 goals for four clubs, which are Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, and Al-Nassr.

In November, he said that the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico would be his last international tournament. He captained Portugal to victory at Euro 2016 in France.
