MANCHESTER UNITED CRUISE PAST WOLVES TO RISE TO SIXTH IN PREMIER LEAGUE

MANCHESTER United moved up to sixth in the Premier League after an impressive 4-1 win over bottom-placed Wolverhampton Wanderers, extending their unbeaten run to five matches. Wolves, stuck bottom of the table with just two points from 14 games, were under pressure to respond after one of the worst starts in English top-flight history.

Despite their struggles, Wolves made a bright start, with Sam Johnstone forced to make early saves from Diogo Delot and Brian Mbuemo. But United quickly changed momentum. In the 25th minute, Casemiro won possession in midfield and fed former Wolves forward Matheus Cunha, who set up Bruno Fernandes for a poor but decisive close-range opener.

United continued to dominate the game and left Wolves chasing shadows as the minutes passed. Although Cunha and Amad Diallo missed half-chances to double the lead, the visitors' dominance soon paid off. A handball from Yerson Mosquera gave United a chance to take a penalty and complete control.

Bruno Fernandes stepped up and buried the spot-kick into the bottom-left corner, sealing Wolves' eighth consecutive Premier League defeat. With the defeat, Wolves are now certain to remain bottom at Christmas, while United have taken momentum towards the top four.
