Documents reveal India ran to US for ceasefire after Pakistan’s counter-attack

New information has come to light, revealing how India sought help from the United States to achieve a ceasefire with Pakistan during the May 2025 conflict. This information came to light through official documents that were submitted to the US Department of Justice.

According to these documents, on May 10, the same day the ceasefire was announced, the Indian Embassy in Washington was in direct contact with high-ranking members of the Trump administration.

The documents show that India reached out to the White House Chief of Staff through a US-based lobbying firm, which has raised questions in diplomatic circles in India.

The documents also mention that White House Chief of Staff Suzy Wiles and other top officials were contacted on India’s behalf.

Images have also appeared showing the head of the lobbying firm hired by India alongside former US President Donald Trump. The US Department of Justice said the outreach was intended to influence and control international media coverage of the conflict.

An Indian journalist has also confirmed that New Delhi used a lobbying firm to get access to senior US officials during the conflict, supporting the idea that India faced heavy diplomatic pressure as the situation worsened.

These new details come as Pakistani officials insist that India was forced to seek outside mediation after Pakistan's strong and effective response during the conflict.

Federal Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has repeatedly said that the Pakistan Air Force showed great operational abilities and used advanced technology during the May conflict, changing the situation on the battlefield.

Speaking on a private television show, Khawaja Asif said Pakistan’s strong performance not only made India back down but also improved Pakistan’s standing globally.

He also said Pakistan has seen increased international interest in its defence equipment, especially aircraft, following their successful use during the conflict.

The Defence Minister added that the rising demand indicates renewed global confidence in Pakistan’s armed forces and defence industry.

He also said that these potential economic benefits could be significant enough to reduce Pakistan’s need for international financial help if agreements are reached.

Warning against any future actions that could cause problems, Khawaja Asif said Pakistan is fully prepared to protect its sovereignty and will respond strongly to any aggression.

He also said that India’s leadership faced political and diplomatic embarrassment both at home and abroad after the May conflict.
